“Just stick to reading the teleprompter.”

April 23, 2014 4 Comments

The first email I had the “wonderful” opportunity to open this morning:

“Amanda, I have to be honest with you because nobody else has the balls to do so. Enough with your campaign to end bullying. I’m so over it and so is everyone else. Have you noticed that nobody is responding to your invitation to this big rally this week? Nobody wants to hear some man talk about how his son took the coward way out of life and killed himself. The kid got picked on, big damn deal. You are allowing kids to be sissies. Were you a sissy growing up?  If you stay on this path, your kids will be wimps and get picked on. Kids need to toughen up. Nobody needs a news lady telling anyone to take a stand. Against what? Just do me and the rest of Iowa a favor. Just stick to reading the teleprompter because that’s what your there to do.”

Ohhh how I love anonymous emails.

There are a million things I could say…but I refuse to fight with ignorance.

I will just say this:

THERE WILL BE HATERS.

THERE WILL BE DOUBTERS.

THERE WILL BE NON-BELIEVERS.

AND THERE WILL BE ME.

PROVING THEM WRONG.

That had to be a man who wrote that talk about people being kids being sissies I don’t think so they just don’t want to be suspended because they end up and get into trouble the bullies at the schools are victims not the ones that are getting bullied so I say to whoever wrote this they have no room to talk if that person could not say who what was then they have no room to talk about the sissies

  2. Mary says:

Keep talking about the bullying, Amanda. We need to shut the bullies down. And your kids will not grow up to be wimps. Thanks for all you do.

  3. Anne says:

Oh, my! That is just plain horrible! Makes me wonder what happened to that person when they were growing up. Keep it up, Amanda. Bullying in any form is not OK and bullies grow up to be bigger bullies–we all know at least one.
And you’re right: you can’t fight with ignorance. It’s not really a fair fight, now is it? ;-)

As I have said before and I’ll say it again!! You are doing a wonderful job and I’m glad you are at KWWL! And bullying is wrong, wrong, wrong! Keep up the good work, Amanda.
