Future Aunt

Aunt Bird (Sara) is pregnant!

Aunt Bird (Sara) is pregnant!

I am going to be an aunt!  My younger sister, Sara, is pregnant with her first child.  At 30 she is easily old enough to be a mom, but it is strange to see your younger sibling in a new light-expectant mother.  She is still my little sis, in many respects, to me.  Fortunately for her I have saved all the baby clothes, maternity wear, Boppies, you name it.  If it’s a boy my nephew will be named Liam James.  Sara’s husband is Will, full name William, so Liam comes from the end.  James is our dad’s first name.  Should the baby be a girl, her name will be Ava Mae.  Ava is a name my sister has always liked for a daughter and Mae was the middle name of Will’s mom who passed away a few years ago.  Her due date will be sometime in March.  I will keep you posted.  And, yes, I plan to be there to watch the delivery. :)

Call for more photos:  Please email me a picture of your children to share.  Include names and hometown, please.  Would love to feature more photos with mom and dad or grandparents, too.

Congratulations to you and your family!! Trust me, when you are watching another woman giving birth, you wonder how you managed to give birth to your own children. I was there when my daughter gave birth to 3 of my grandchildren, and it truley is a miracle to witness. But, I was really glad it wasn’t me there in that bed!! Deb :)

Congratulations to everyone!! My sister-in-law is pregnant as well and due in January. I was wondering where did Sara get the shirt she was wearing?? I would like to get one for my sister-in-law.

Isn’t a wonderful feeling. My sister also 30 is going to have a baby and for the first time I get to be an aunt. My husband has nieces and nephews that are also mine but it is different when it is your own sibling having a baby. I can’t wait to spoil the baby when he/she gets here.

Congrats to you and your sis! Opposite of you, I am an aunt many times over but not a mom…yet. My nieces and nephews are the closest I have to children. I say now that I love them like my own but I’m sure that will change if/when we have our own children. Regardless I love them tons. It’s great being an aunt- enjoy!
