6:15am Charlotte says to me, “Mommy, can I watch a kids’ show?” The day has begun, no turning back.
6:35am Thomas drags the laptop out to Skype Nana and Papa. Charlotte races upstairs to put on a ballerina tutu for the video-conference call. I notice two chocolate stains on it. Add that to the laundry pile!
7:45am Rushing to get the children in the car for a couple errands, put my bare foot in one boot and step down on a fruit snack wrapper Thomas shoved in there.
8:20am Thomas falls asleep in the car. Not dropping Charlotte at preschool until 9. My planned nap with him later WILL NOT HAPPEN.
9:00am Charlotte is lining up with the other students for class. Her Hello Kitty backpack has so much stuff shoved in there she could star in a future episode of that show featuring hoarders.
1:00pm The nap didn’t happen and I’m blabbing on the phone with a friend when I should be in the shower.
1:15pm Stuffing myself into a too small black velvet skirt, no time to change as I’m just going to make it to work in time for a 1:30pm meeting.
5:35pm Laughing that a guy called the newsroom to ask if I got a raise since, he says, my clothes are much improved. A manager explains the Dillard’s thing to him.
6:45pm Sad to hear that Daddy and Charlotte have had a bad night since she’s overtired and ultra-stubborn.
8:10pm Reading The Velveteen Rabbit to Charlotte and skipping a lot of the sentences due to her lack of interest, in part because of the basketball game she keeps watching with Daddy.
8:35pm Back at work with a big piece of cinnamon bread dropped off from a local business. Looking forward to going to bed, by 11:30pm if I’m lucky!

Tara, you are a very busy lady, but keep in mind that one day you will look back on these as “the good old days” and actually miss the hustle and bustle! I wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas!
Everyone’s life is sure buzy!! I am a stay at home mom, that works part time at home for my husband. Also volunteer alot at the school. There certainly is no set routine when staying at home or working outside of the home. After a hectic day or week or month, it slows down a bit. Then I catch myself wondering what will I do tomarrow or this afternoon. I know I would not be a happy person, wife, or mother if my hectic life did not define & drive me. I love the opportunities that I have been blessed with. Sometimes we wish we had magic powers to pick up toys or fold laundry. Just once a day, wishfull thinking. Society is certainly different- just a couple generations, many families had a dozen children with the disadvantage of a wringer washer, no tv to entertain my kids, or many of the other items I know I take for granted. Love the blog Tara!!
Gotta love days like this! Hey – at least no one was throwing up! TGIF!
The red top looked great on the news tonight and Eileen’s outfit looks great as well. How much fun for all of you gals to get to try new stuff every day!
I’m looking for a cute Hello Kitty Bag, anywhere we could find it?

I have 2 kids of my own. A 3 year old and 8 month old. Thanks for being so honest in your blog. I enjoy reading it. I can totally relate. I just keep reminding myself that these are the good old days. Happy Holidays to your family.
