Not sure if I’ve mentioned Dave and I like to go to Vegas for one main reason: buffets! Just as the city lures gamblers with free drinks and hotel rooms, it got me under its spell once again with the meal deal of a lifetime. Sign up for a free casino club card and for the low price of $39.99 you can make unlimited trips to 7 buffets for 24 hours. Of course we could not pass it up and made it to 5 of them! Even got up early so we could go to breakfast then brunch at two different casinos. I know, you know, I have a problem. So it was a gluttonous good time but a guilt-ridden return to the scale. When the 24 hours were up, I insisted we go to a restaurant I thought existed only in New York where frozen hot chocolate is the must-have dessert. Would you believe lady luck was on my side when I discovered a coupon for a free one in my tourist booklet?
Dave had the steak sandwich:
Spending a long weekend with my step-daughter, Taylor, and her friend was also sweet. I lost of total of $5 when I played a penny slot for 10 minutes to kill time while Dave talked to a woman at the front desk. Accidentally hit 20 lines and thought it was a 20-cent bet. Stick to the food, Tara. You would make a terrible gambler.

Sounds like a good time!
That frozen hot choc. looks great!
Yummy, I’d love some of that frozen hot chocolate!
I saw Donnie and Marie in Vegas while they were rehearsing the Miss America Pagent. They are very short people and wear a lot of make up. they are “always on” Like their everyday life is a show or rehearsal. Probably so if they have grown up in show business.
this has nothing to do with this blog, but I am wondering what happened to the piece you submitted about your neighbors and their kids? Did you finally go to far in your writings? If I was your neighbor I would be very irrate with you. Yes, maybe the parents need to know, but not the way you did it. Think before you speak or write in your case!
that’s so funny; i was just out there with my wife and family and son. it was only $35 for us to do that city wide buffet, and we hit caesar’s for lunch, harrah’s for dinner, and flamingo for breakfast. after spening a good $35 for every two-person meal, it was nice to spend $35 per person for THREE.
Vacation is made for indulging! Glad you got to enjoy yourselves in Vegas. How was seeing your friend there? G1- what are you referring to?? Keep up the great job Tara~ enjoy all of your posts!
Tamara: there is a blog that is missing which was posted last week before this one. Apparently it didn’t go over well because it has been deleted, along with about 5 comments that had been posted also. Tara will have to let the readers know the rest if she wants.
No, I did not read the post G1 is talking about or the comments related to such post, but again, this is Tara’s blog. I know Tara is not the type of person who would try to slam anyone as some of you seem to try to do to her. EVERY SINGLE PERSON is entitled to their very own opinion-right or wrong. Yes, even Tara! Obviously it was something happening in her life, which once again, is what this blog is all about anyways.
Tara, I am envious. I can’t wait to go to Vegas!!! I’m glad that you had a nice trip.
To G1, ya know, I remembered that there was a post after the strip club post, but for the life of me I could not remember what it was about until I read your humble opinion. Great job on letting a sleeping dog lie. <- No sarcasm here what so ever.
Tara, thank you for sharing your life on this blog and putting yourself out there for even further critique than you already endure for being a local celebrity. I thoroughly enjoy reading it, even though I don't always share your opinions. That is what makes life interesting, varying points of view. Opinions are like bellowbuttons (edited), everyone has one.
Also, saw you at Jokers last weekend. You looked great! Keep up the wonderful blog!
Sorry….that was bellybuttons.
Michelle – no sarcasm taken what so ever. I also have a right to my opinions!
Did Dave “Eat the Whole Thing” of that steak sandwich? that’s just a baby sandwich….
what you thinking….
Then did he want a bite of your hot frozen chocolate
Yes, G1 you are right, everyone is entitled to their own opinions iike I said. As I’m sure Tara appreciates them all. BUT, you could have done it with a little more respect than that.
Tara, I’m glad you allowed yourself some slack on the yummy food available, that’s what vacations are for! I saw a Weight Watchers ad recently that said “You are less likely to give up if you don’t give up the foods you love.” Makes sense to me!
