Just returned from Des Moines where we picked up my step-daughters, Taylor and Lauren. Thanks to technology I was able to download an airline application on my phone driving there that told me the exact time their plane touched down. Pretty cool. We are all drained. The girls from leaving Seattle early this morning and traveling all day. Dave’s parents who have been here since Monday because, well, they’re older. The rest of us from a whirlwind trip with eight of us crammed in an SUV for hours. Thankfully we made it home without too much crabbing–our word for whining and crying. Pictures and details to come.

Being together with family is so rewarding but ultimately draining as well. Take some time for yourself to recharge even if its only a few minutes in the bathroom!

tj-I read that too and I thought the same thing…afterall she took a pledge not to drive and text, hopefully that goes with driving & downloading. I ASSUME her husband was driving. At least I hope she pulled over if she was driving.
