Surgery Eve

Eight hours from now I will be with Charlotte for her surgery.  6am is are scheduled arrival time and I am working tonight, so if you happen to be at the same medical facility the mom with puffy eyes wearing a baseball cap will be yours truly.  This is my 6-year-old daughter’s third time being put to sleep and she has informed me she does not want to be held down as was the case until she fell asleep during the last procedure.  It’s a no win for a parent.  You don’t want your child to be forced to  breathe in the gas but he or she has to do it to have the operation.  My goal is to remain as calm as I am usually blessed to be.  I am reminded through the blogs of others dealing with serious medical issues that these scenarios are all too common.  We are fortunate this is an exception for us to go through it.  Once the mole is removed, it will be biopsied to hopefully confirm it’s benign.  Three moles taken off her head since birth.  I think Nana’s right.  Next summer Sissy needs to wear a hat in the sun.

Hope things went well for Charlotte! Yes, I think the hat idea is a good idea! They make such cute ones too.

    Thought about Charlotte’s surgery yesterday.
Praying all went well and glad it is now behind!

Do think Nana is right about a hat in the sun.
