I have school-aged children so that means in the past few weeks I have had a thousand conversations about school supply lists, start dates, early outs, etc. Every time I walk out of the house I run into someone who’s on the same wave length. Which means the exchange gravitates almost immediately to speculation about class size, bus routes and teacher assignments. We can’t help it. We’re parents so our lives revolve around these little people who we talk about and obsess about constantly. Good thing I have other pursuits because when my kids hopefully graduate college some day I will have to come up with new subjects during small talk. For now I will remain the mom who spent an additional 45 minutes at registration chatting with all the like-minded peeps I ran into. Who did (fill in child name) get for first grade? Is the bus route changing since so many more kids will be at the stop this year? Did you buy the toilet paper on your preschooler’s supply list–one or two-ply? These are the burning questions that we are all unable to answer immediately so we enjoy hashing them over and over and over. See you in the school supply aisle!

Do you really have to buy toilet paper???? When I was teaching all we asked for was a large box of tissues. Times change!
Mary, I was wondering the exact same thing???????
Wow, I never realized that some preschools required the children to supply toilet paper.
That’s a new one to me!
It’s preschool. They probably do ask that it be supplied.
Really. Our preschool (and K-6) provides the paper. It’s all part of the tuition paid by the parents.
