What’s in your purse?

What you drag around (women) in your purse says a lot about your priorities.  Gone are lip glosses and a pocket mirror in mine.  It’s now filled with a reflection of my life as a mom.  Let’s see, in addition to the must-have-on-hand wet wipes, I am lugging around some crayons and ponytail holders–more like pigtail holders with Charlotte’s shorter cut.  Digging deep I pulled out a plastic telescope and a ring that came out of a bubblegum machine.  Can’t forget the alphabet flashcards.  They are a wonderful and educational distraction for moments like today when Thomas was waiting with me during Sissy’s haircut.  I also carry a nail file, tweezers and pack of bandages.  And beyond the checkbook, credit cards and occasional dollar bill, the most valuable thing I take with me is my mini-sized Bible.

Have gone beyond the “carrying stuff for the kids” stage; but I always have: 1. A book/Kindle (in case I get delayed somewhere and need to kill time) 2. Am doing Invisalign so I have my retainer case, toothpaste, tooth brush and dental floss always ready 3. Am power of attorney for my dad so I always have to carry his checkbook (as well as my own) with me.

Is it any wonder our shoulders don’t fall off? Too much stuff!

I downsized to a small purse just recently and still carry too much junk! I always have a mini sized body spray and lotion, my camera, lip gloss and of course, the kleenex and wet wipes for the kids!
It has been nice now that the kids are a little older (9&6) I can carry more things of my own!
Everytime I clean my purse though, it never fails to have a McDonald’s happy meal toy burried in one of the corners :)

Just to prepare you, as a Grandma of a girl and boy I also carry in my purse the same things. One must always be prepared!
