Halloween Hangover

The plan was to get back on the diet today and be sure to exercise.  The plan failed miserably by 9:30am.  My kids were still hyped up/overtired from the big event, so Thomas woke up at 5 and Charlotte cried over her inability to get her ponytail right at 7 in the morning.  I held out as long as I possibly could, but by 8am needed a mini Baby Ruth and pumpkin Peeps just to power through the next hour.  A little box of Dots got me through the trip to preschool and I’m staring at the Kit Kat and Snickers wrappers next to me on the couch.  My rationale is why work out now that I’ve had candy for breakfast?  I know it’s a stupid argument but one I’ll use as an excuse since it’s a Monday.  Charlotte never did wear the cheerleader costume we’d planned on for weeks.  Instead she threw on a Cinderella play gown and plastic pink heels for the mall then changed into last year’s Thumbelina dress for the neighborhood.  Thomas went as a dinosaur yet told people up until the moment his costume was on that he was going as “The Wiggles”.  He is so obsessed with the Australian singing group, when Daddy brought him in bed with me at 5 he was clapping and singing some of their songs in my ear.  Cute, but honestly not the way I wanted to start my day.  Please pass the plastic pumpkin.
