Greetings and Salutations

Hello and welcome to what I hope to be the beginning of a beautiful friendship. Recently we had a meeting here to talk about the internet and KWWL when I noticed that we didn’t have anyone talking about entertainment, so I asked the question and look where it go me, writing about entertainment. Now you may be asking yourself, “who is this guy, I don’t see him on the TV?” and well you’d be right since I’m one of the behind the scenes guys. I’m one of the two guys here that make commercials for our local advertisers so I know my way around a good script and a great shot. But then you may be asking yourself “what are his credentials for evaluating art, music and film?” Well I have my BA in Theatre from the University of Northern Iowa, I have played in local bands for over 15 years, and I’m the 124 most influential reviewer on Netflix. While none of that makes me an expert it gives me at least a little ground to stand on. So with out further ado, we should get onto the business that is the business. My goal with this blog is to talk about movies, music, art and entertainment news, both locally and nationally. I hope to provide reviews of local and national entertainment that I see, hear, and feel with the rest of you. With all that it will take some help from you all too, if you’re in a local band and you’d like me to review your CD, send it right here to me at the station (thanks for that one Mr. Food), or send me an email gwilkinson@kwwl.com with the who, what, when and where you are playing and I’ll try and make it out to see a show. Also local artists feel free to drop me a line with your up coming shows, and that goes for the local bars, clubs and entertainment venues be sure and let me know “what’s going on” (thanks for that Marin Gaye). I want to cover as much as possible and provide a voice for everyone to be heard. So with that I’ll close this first edition of Critical Mass and hope that I get a flood of new things to ponder and experience.
