My Interview with Corey Taylor of Slipknot 5-14-09

With a number one album on Billboard and a Grammy win Slipknot is one of the most successful bands to ever come out of Iowa.  I recently sat down with Corey Taylor at the US Cellular Center in Cedar Rapids for a chat about the last ten years and what else has been going on with Corey and the band.  So here’s the interview.

So there you go, I hope you enjoy the interview.  Next week I’ll have a video interview up that I did with Jeff of DevilDriver as well.

Astonishing, I hope more people realize how hard work and how truly amazing this band is. I’ve always had a tremendous amount of respect for Corey and his way with words is like a philosopher of our generation.

My only complaint about Slipknot is that I wish they did not have the side projects and could put out new material more often. Live albums and DVD’s are cool…but they do not replace a new album and the possibility of seeing one of your favorite bands live.

And please…next time you tour…do not ignore the Pacific Northwest…you played Auburn (Mayhem Fest Seattle), then did not play Seattle, Portland, or Vancouver BC when you did a headlining tour earlier this year…The Maggots of the Pacific NW await you!!

im replying to this to tylers cmnt above….i sort of agree with you but, think of it like this[Slipknot puts out a brilliant album as always, then you have to wait..and wait…and wait, when they finally announce that new album you about jizz yourself in excitement because you have been waiting, if they just put out album after album you expect it and you don’t get that same high from knowing your about to receive a godly piece of work

he seems to have a lot of interesting views on a wide veriety of topics.

cant wait for the 10th anniversary album and dvd, love hearin corey speak its so insightful, good to know that they’re thinking about the next album already saw interview on the bands site with sid saying he cant wait to start the new album already…. it is a bit frustrating waiting for slipknots next album but fact is if they put a record out every year or whatever like some bands, they would’ve died out along time ago i think because all the albums would sound similair and thats boring, when they have the breaks as well it gives 9 people who spend nearly 2yrs each cycle in a bus probably getting annoyed with each other a breather, they nearly split after IOWA because they went straight into the studio instead of having a break, i knew AHIG werent going to be their last…. long live slipknot and to hell with everyone who keeps writing them off 10years and stronger than ever!!

It might sound weared but, one of my biggest dreams is to some time in my life meet Corey Taylor.
