Present for Grammy and Grampy

I’ve talked about it a few times, but I really can’t thank my parents enough for all their help with Cubbie. Whenever I need to leave town for some reason or am going to have a really long day… they are always willing to watch Cubster.

But my parents do more than just watch Cubbie, they love him as their grand puppy, and that’s what I want to thank them for the most.

I love my dog so much, and at the end of the day, I want him to be around other people who also love him.

As much as I hate leaving Cubbie, at least I know he is so happy at the grandparents! :)

To thank my parents, Cubbie and I got them a little gift. It’s not much, but we thought it was cute. It’s a picture frame that says “Grand Dog.”

He is my furry baby, and he is their grand puppy. I couldn’t ask for better parents, and I’m so thankful they are always there for Cubbie and me. Life is easier and better because of them.

Pet Licenses

The City of Waterloo is launching a campaign to get more pets registered.

According to city code, every cat and dog living in city limits must be registered and receive a pet license.

You can get a pet license at the Waterloo City Clerk’s Office during regular business hours. Bring proof of rabies vaccination with you. The cost (after April 1) is $10 for altered and $20 for unaltered. You’ll get a tag for your dog or cat’s collar.

You can read more about this in a story I did for KWWL. Here is the link to my story and video.

National Homeless Animals Day

In 1992, ISAR introduced National Homeless Animals’ Day and Candlelight Vigils as an innovative educational vehicle with a purpose of informing society of an American tragedy that overwhelms animal shelters each year – pet overpopulation.

Since the conception of National Homeless Animals’ Day, ISAR has reserved the third Saturday of August, commemorating the Day annually, to promote new campaigns, programs and ideas on the solution to the pet overpopulation epidemic: spay/neuter.

Homeless Animals’ Day activities often include candlelight vigils, adopt-a-thons, microchip clinics, blessings of the animals, and heartfelt speeches given by council members, local veterinarians, humane officers and shelter personnel.
To read about previous International Homeless Animals’ Day events, please visit our Newsletters page on our website.
By coming together on International Homeless Animals’ Day you can support ISAR in letting the world know we will not tolerate the senseless killing that continues to take the lives of innocent dogs, cats, puppies and kittens simply because there are not enough good homes for them.

Car Wash Thief

Bill owns a company that manufactures and installs car wash systems. Bill ‘s company installed a car wash system in Frederick , MD.

Now, understand that these are complete systems, including the money changer and money taking machines.

The problem started when the new owner complained to Bill that he was losing significant amounts of money from his coin machines each week.

He went as far as to accuse Bill ‘s employees of having a key to the boxes and ripping him off. Bill just couldn’t believe that his people would do that, so they setup a camera to catch the thief in action. Well, they did catch him on film!

That’s a bird sitting on the change slot of the machine.

The bird had to go down into the machine, and back up inside to get to the money!

That’s three quarters he has in his beak! Another amazing thing is that it was not just one bird — there were several working together. Once they identified the thieves, they found more than $4000 in quarters on the roof of the car wash and more under a nearby tree.

And you thought you heard of everything by now!! !!

Photos by Holly Hildreth

I owe a huge thank you to Holly Hildreth (Jennifer’s sister) for taking some amazing pictures of Cubbie and me.

It’s almost four years to the day since I brought my little boy home. Where does the time go?!

We’re two peas in a pod, and it’s been the two of us for four years. I have a ton of pictures of Cubbie, but not that many of us together. Unfortunately, it won’t always be just “us” so I’m grateful to have these keepsakes.

I’m so impressed with Holly’s photos, and I’m so impressed with Cubbie looking at the camera! :)

It was really humid, but Cubbie did an exceptional job with the picture taking.

Enjoy!

She did an amazing job, and I really appreciate her hard work! She isn’t finished with the pictures yet, BUT she sent me a couple as a preview. These are so great, I can’t wait to see more!

So, here’s a preview and I will post more once Holly sends them my way.
