Two-Year-Old Beagle up for Adoption

Are you in the market to take on a new family member?

Some people are in need of giving away their two-year-old beagle. The dog’s name is Chica, she is house-broken and has all up-to-date shots and is spayed.

Chica’s birthday is around Christmas time. Great, loving dog needing a great, loving family.

The owners need to give Chica away because of cancer in the family.

If you are interested, please call Mary at 319-830-3476, they are hoping to have a new home for Chica by Wednesday, May 4.

Ducklings at KWWL

We had some ducklings at the station courtesy of Maria Magner!

Here’s a video link of them following Ron around the newsroom.

I held one in my hand, and no joke, he started to fall asleep.

Easter at the Wagner House

There’s always lots of excitement at the Wagner house when you get three children, two parents, one dog and one cat together.

For Easter, we celebrated my dad’s birthday (which is actually April 29th) since everyone was able to make it home to Oelwein.

We got him a coconut flavored, cat-themed cake. The best part was when he blew out the candles and got frosting all over his sweatshirt. :)

And speaking of cats, my dad gave K.K. her annual shave… poor cat! I’m not sure if she’s hiding on the chair because she’s embarrassed by her hair or because she’s hiding from Cubbie. Needless to say, all of us kids gave my dad a hard time!

Besides chasing K.K., Cubbie’s favorite part of Easter and other holidays has to be the dishwasher. Cubbie learned this trick when he was a puppy from our old family dog. I don’t have one at my house, so Cubbie LOVES this part about Grandma and Grandpa’s house.

As soon as my mom puts the door down, he is ready!

Then it’s time to lick. Everything from plates to silverware, he is right in there giving the dishes a pre-wash!

He always gets food all over his face (gross), but he absolutely loves it. It’s his own special holiday treat.

Help Me Raise Money for MDA!

Besides animals, I try to help out with as many organizations as possible. This time it’s MDA.

You don’t want me to sit in jail, do you?!? :) Plus, I want to make my goal before Schnack!

I’m an MDA Jailbird and am being Locked-Up…that’s right, I’m going behind bars to help Jerry’s Kids©.  In order to be released on good behavior, I need your help to raise my “bail.”

My bail has been set at $800 and if everyone I know makes a tax-deductible donation, I’ll reach my goal quickly! Bail is set at $800 because that’s what it costs to send one child to MDA summer camp for a week.

Just click here to make a secure, online donation before 05/25/11.

Thanks for your help!

Dog Toy from “Grandma’s Hugs”

In case you haven’t seen it yet, I have a new segment on KWWL called “Someone You Should Know.”

The segment now airs Sundays and Mondays during the KWWL news at 10 p.m.

This Monday, April 18th I’m airing a story on two sisters from Waverly who make fleece tie blankets for children at the Waverly Health Center.

Scraps left over from making the blankets then get braided into dog toys. The ladies (Kay Greeley and Bonnie Moeller) were nice enough to give me a toy to give to Cubbie.

Cubbie loves to play tug-of-war, and this toy is perfect for that. So a big thanks to the ladies of “Grandma’s Hugs.”
