Leading up to Sunday’s “Dog Day at the Ballpark” — Cubbie got a chance to do a little running around a ball field.
We threw tennis balls, and he would bound off to chase them down. My favorite part was watching him jump over the foul lines! He was following an old baseball superstition without evening realizing it.
Most of the time he didn’t want to run on the dirt. He would get the ball, and then he’d run to where the grass meets the dirt and run it in the rest of the way on the grass.
He was definitely tired after a few runs. One time he ran straight past us to his water dish, and he was so quick to get a drink he just dropped the ball into the water dish.
He moved while I was trying to take this picture, but you can hopefully see the dirt from the field on his nose.
