Ron Steele’s dog, Lucky, passed away Monday. He was 14 years old.
Lucky was a beautiful dog. Ron brought him to the Cubbie Tails Fundraiser Dog Walk last year for the Cedar Bend Humane Society. Lucky couldn’t walk the whole way, but I was so glad he came.
I recently saw Ron and Lucky at Taylor Vet. I was there doing a story on Go Fetch Fitness and Ron was dropping off Lucky to be boarded because it was the weekend of his son’s wedding. Lucky didn’t look good physically, but he was still a beautiful, gentle dog. Ron knew it was time for Lucky to go. He had a long and a good life.
Here is a video Ron’s wife, Candy, posted of Lucky. Ron says he wants to remember Lucky as the playful puppy you see in the video. As with so many of our pets, Lucky really was a member of the Steele family.

Omg that made me cry . Lucky was lucky to have such a loving family . and they were lucky to have him also.
Rest In Peace Lucky
What a wonderful video, it just touched my heart. My thoughts go out to the Steele family.
That made me cry. Wonderful video. The Steele family have my sympathy. We lost our companion of only 12 years and it is heartbreaking.
It was a wonderful tribute to Lucky and it brought tears to my eyes. My thoughts go out to the Steele family. Our dog is 14 years old and we know that her time is nearing. I know it was a heart wrenching decision.
i so sad to hear about what happend my dog is geting older and time is comeing to die i hope ron steele well get another dog
That brought tears to my eyes as well. My sympathies go to the Steele family.
My hearts go our to Ron and his family. I am sitting here wiping the tears away. As any animal lover knows it is just not fair that our furry family members can’t live longer. The final picture in this video really got to me the most as my own dog is 9 and she is showing the signs of aging by graying in her face as well.
I know now may not be the right time, but I think the Steele family needs to get another dog so at least one more dog out there gets to live a wonderful life like Lucky did!
Oh, what a wonderful video to have as a
remembrance of a truly loved dog; I’ve got tears in my eyes, too.
Dog or cat we love them like family. You were all lucky to have Lucky, My sympathies.
We have lost many pets over the years and it is never easy. I think of each one and I find some comfort in knowing that we loved each one and gave them the best life we could.Even when that meant having to make the decision to end their suffering. It was done with love and my firm belief that we will see each other again someday! My sympathy to you and your family Ron.
Wonderful video… it made me cry. Deep
felt sympathy to the Steele family. They were blessed to have such a wonderful companion for 14 years.
WOW! What a lucky dog. I hope some day you will find it in your heart to give another animal such a happy life. God Bless
