Pet Photos with the Easter Bunny

College Square Mall in Cedar Falls is hosting its annual pet photo night with the Easter Bunny is Tuesday, March 26 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The Easter Bunny will be available to pose for keepsake photos with pets and their owners at College Square Mall’s bunny patch display in center court.

To ensure event success, Bunny has a few requests.  Owners and pets should enter and exit through the south mall entrance nearest the theaters.  All animals must be on a leash or in carriers, and no pets will be allowed beyond the bunny patch.  Pet owners are responsible for cleaning up after their pets.

P.E.T. P.A.L.S. Volunteer Appreciation Potluck

I want to thank P.E.T. P.A.L.S. for once again inviting me to the organization’s annual Volunteer Appreciate Potluck on Monday, February 18th at First Lutheran Church in Waterloo.

This year’s potluck also celebrated a big milestone for the pet therapy program — 30 years of serving the Cedar Valley.

Volunteers with P.E.T. P.A.L.S. (both pets and humans) visit various schools, care facilities, hospitals and many more locations sharing a love of animals.

The guest speaker at the dinner was Dr. Gael Yonnet and his service dog Tallix with Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo. Dr. Yonnet specializes  in the management of spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, strokes, amputations and multiple sclerosis.

He is in a wheelchair after suffering a spinal cord injury in a snowboarding accident in 2006.

P.E.T. P.A.L.S. aired some news clips through the last 30 years, including several old KWWL clips.

There is another training session for P.E.T. P.A.L.S. in March. Cubbie is signed up and possibly Teddy, too!
