Prom Time

This weekend was a very busy one but I wouldn’t have traded it for anything in the world. I had a fun night with good friends on Friday and then drove to Minnetonka bright and early on Saturday. Waking up on Saturday was not fun and I debated whether I really needed to go home or not for Robby’s Prom. My practical dad said that it wouldn’t make sense for me to drive so far only to have to turn around and come back the very next day. My mom agreed as well but in my heart of hearts I knew that if I didn’t go, I would regret it. I hopped in the car, got some gas and coffee and off I went.

As soon as I got home Robby was on his way to drop off corsages at my sister’s office for his entire class. My sister is wonderful at organizing and taking charge of things and since she has her own Event Management company she gets very involved in Robby’s events and functions. She however was in Chicago for the weekend for an event which is why I wanted to make sure that I was there to help Robby with whatever he needed.

We headed off to her office and dropped off the flowers, rushed home and had a quick lunch and then the crazy times began! I told Robby to hop in shower while I got his overnight bag together and made sure his suit was all ready to go and that we could get to the salon by 3. He had a whole thing of fun planned. The kids were meeting at one house, heading off to dinner, then taking a party bus to Downtown Minneapolis and ending the night at another friends house where the parents would keep a close eye on them! I love the school he goes to because it’s such a small graduating class that everyone is like family and we feel very comfortable with him spending time with any of them. He can’t get in much trouble when all those parents are like extended family!

As I rushed around getting his things together and making sure he wasn’t forgetting anything I was struck at how lucky I am to be able to be part of his senior year! I love being able to help him and make his senior year special. It’s the least I can do after I was away for so long busy in the broadcasting career.

Here are a few pictures of his PROM! What a fun, fun day it was!
