These days I am thinking a lot about my health or should I say the lack of it.
I feel like I have gained a few pounds, lost the rosy glow in my cheeks and feel far more sluggish than I should. What gives? Well whatever it is –I need to take charge.
My dad always says to me “You are what you eat” and though I don’t consider myself a particularly unhealthy eater-I know for sure I could do better!
I am going to start incorporating a lot of lean meat and vegetables in my diet. Today I made a healthy stir fry with leftover chicken and a ton of fresh veggies. I topped it with a splash of soy sauce and a bit of Tapatio and it was very tasty along with healthy! Best part is that it didn’t make me feel tired or too full which was an added plus of incorporating a light meal into my day. I also went and bought a bunch of tuna which I plan to make an easy cracker dip out of (No Mayo!!) and eat with some whole grain crackers.
I also bought a few cans of pink salmon (not the tastiest but an inexpensive way to get some protein and Omega 3′s) and some fresh turkey from the deli. Also a bottle of Apple Cider Vinegar! Not everyone believes in it but read up on the health facts and you will be a believer. When I drink it regularly-I feel amazing and my skin just glows! Remember to get the one with the “mother” at the bottom. That’s the cluster of enzymes that make the drink healthy and nutritious. This is no health fad. For 3 bucks it can’t be ..if you are interested you can find it at HyVee.
Eating healthy IS a lot of work. Meal planning is important and it takes extra time but the rewards are huge. I am hoping I can stay on track. My health depends on it!
