She’s Here!

Sometimes you don’t realize how much you miss someone until they are right in front of you. That is how I felt when I picked up Shenah this morning from the airport.  I gave her the biggest hug and the ride back was just like old times. It’s funny  how you can just pick back up where you left off with really true good friends. She is napping now after her long red-eye flight and I couldn’t help but get a quick blog post in.

We decided to grab some lunch and headed to Los Cabos where we sat outside and caught up on life. She instantly started asking me those questions that only really good friends can do when they know you inside and out.  We talked about the past, the future and mostly getting over old fears and hurts. Though Shenah and I met in Eugene only a few years ago it still seems like she has known me my entire life. I am so excited for her to meet my parents this weekend! Mom is busily preparing a feast for us and cleaning the house for her arrival. We are going to the Mall of America and will probably check out Calhoun Square and whatever else her heart desires. Mostly today we have been laughing. Laughing so hard my belly aches and everything seems funny even things that normally wouldn’t really be! Ah friendship!

I shouldn’t already be thinking about her leaving and how sad I will be but I cannot really help that. She is such an integral part of my life and it means so much to me that she made time to come visit me. It just goes to show that true friendship can survive miles apart and survive the test of time.

Good Friends --Gotta Cherish them!
