Tomorrow my little brother Robby enters another phase of life as he starts his very first day of college. As big sisters we are finding this hard to believe. He will be walking the same streets I did so many years ago at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities. I just cannot believe it. I really wish I could keep him in a cocoon and never let him grow up but I know how silly that sounds. Due to his late housing enrollment he was put in a dorm room with 5 other boys on the frustratingly far Saint Paul campus. We found out and instantly said no way! So here he is 18 years old in his very first apartment so that we can be sure he has the privacy to study and space to focus on why he is really there. Late last night my parents and sister were cleaning the place and stocking it with groceries. If I seem a bit preoccupied on the news tomorrow it will probably be because my heart is there with him as he starts his first day! Good Luck Robby!
On another note entirely I start a 10 week class at Covenant this week called RIPT. I assume I will be extremely sore and achy these first few weeks as my body adjusts. This is really my time to work my butt off though. No more fattening snacks, carb loaded meals and even that glass of wine. I really want to get the most out of this and make for a healthier me! I think it will help me with stress and much more. Jason and I work out daily but this will be a great chance for me to work with a trainer who will for sure get me doing the right combination of moves to lose the weight !
Today I did more little things to reach my goal of taking professional photos. I wrote to some of my former colleagues who have taken the same route and asked them about how they got started. I inquired about cameras, lighting and how they got the word out. I wish I had more patience but when I want something I want it now! Small steps and one day I will have what I want. Cannot wait to have that camera I dream of and be able to learn all the functions of taking a professional portrait!
