The presents are under the tree and Christmas is just days away. How exciting. I keep staring but not shaking the presents Mr. New got me. What on earth could they be. He is also working on a “special project” he says cannot fit under the tree. Now what on earth could that be? He tells me his goal is to move me to tears with one of these gifts and I have a feeling he just might. I”m curious. Then there is the elusive red box which he says I will love more than the other gifts…hmmm ..It’s big and glittery. What on earth is it? The fun of Christmas! And the mystery!
I have my presents for him as well. They are all wrapped and under the tree but I keep thinking of new ones. I will probably end up running to the store several times this week to get some more. He says “I simply won’t be able to compete with what he got me” so I probably shouldn’t even try. He is a tough cookie to shop for. I hope I got him things he will like
We had a wonderful time this weekend. Friday we cooked dinner together and went out for a bit and Saturday we ran errands and then had a marathon of “The Walking Dead” while eating pizza and snuggling on the couch. Such simple pleasures that make the work week so much easier to deal with. This morning he made my breakfast and he had coffee waiting for me when I came downstairs. One of his favorite phrases is “You just sit and relax and I will take care of everything”..I am so lucky to have a man who loves to treat me and make my life easier and better.
This week is Mingle and Merlot and my theme is an ugly Christmas sweater party. I have so much on my plate and the last thing I have time to think about is finding an ugly Christmas sweater. We went on the hunt for some yesterday with no luck and that just added another thing to my plate until Mr. New said he would just take care of it. He has no idea how taking a few tasks off my to-do list makes things so much simpler. Now I can focus on the details of the event instead of the dressing up part. Life is busy but wonderful. He makes it so.
