Mr. New made Christmas a wonderful day for me. I had to work the morning and noon news but we still managed to make the most of the day and I also took the next day off so we could have an ample amount of time to spend together. We had so many presents under the tree to open!
We started our festivities with a tradition that we talked about doing. We had each written a letter to each other and put it in each others stockings to read on Christmas Day. We plan to write each other a letter every Christmas to share as a way to express how we feel about each other. His letter brought tears to my eyes. It was so beautiful and expressed greatly how much he cares for me.
After that it was time to dive into presents! We had an order of what we wanted the other person to open first and we started opening them one at a time. Mr. New got me so many amazing things. He had remembered all the things I had casually mentioned I needed or wanted. I couldn’t believe the things he remembered. I unwrapped a book I had casually mentioned I really wanted weeks ago, a black cardigan I had said I could use to keep warm and things I didn’t even remember I mentioned before. I could tell he put a ton of thought into each thing he got for me. Even my stocking was chock full of hand lotion, hand warmers and tons of chapstick (can’t live without it)
Then he brought me upstairs for a special surprise in my closet. The door had a bow on it and he told me to open it. Voila! His special project he had been working on for weeks. A full jewelry organizer that he had MADE! I couldn’t believe all the work he put into it. He even took my jewelry and put it on the various pegs and hooks. I completely LOVED it. I had told him I needed a place to organize my stuff and he decided to make it his special project that he worked on for weeks after work! I loved it!
He also framed a picture of me with my camera when I first bought it when a caption that read “The Journey of the Thousand Miles begins with one step”. It’s a huge frame that I can hang on the wall of my office for inspiration when it comes to starting my photography passion. He is so thoughtful and supportive with things like this.
The granddaddy of all presents was yet to come. The elusive red sparkly box!!!! He made me open that last and when he did I about lost it. He had gotten me something I have always wanted–an IPad! I had mentioned many times to him how badly I wanted a tablet and he went out and got me one! He told me he bought it months ago and had been saving it for Christmas! I was so happy. Everything he got me was so thoughtful and wonderful and spending Christmas with him was the best gift I could ask for. I got him many things he wanted as well and he loved most everything. Our first Christmas together was so special and unforgettable. I couldn’t ask for anything more.
