A friend who was supposed to visit this last weekend cancelled meaning Mr. New and I had plenty of time together. This is rare for us since during the week I see him in snippets maybe once or twice for about 15 minutes.
Friday night he was all ready to cook up a surprise dinner. It turned out to be delicious sides of cheesy potatoes and coleslaw with yummy mango jalepeno brats we tried to cook over the fire in our fireplace. It was a half hit-half miss as far as warmth but we really enjoyed the experience and they were extremely tasty!
I took some pictures on Saturday to add to my collection and even though we took several dozen- I ended up only being satisfied with a few. I try to look at this as a positive considering I want the pictures I take for people to be the best they can be. Honestly I just want to keep shooting. If I could do a photo shoot for someone everyday I would be happy. It’s just so fulfilling to be able to give someone a picture they love and that makes them feel good about themselves.
Mr. New doesn’t like being the model in my photos so I use his dog or set up the shot and he takes it of me. He actually does a very nice job himself so perhaps someday we could shoot a wedding together considering I wouldn’t dream of shooting a wedding with just one camera.
Saturday night was date night and I chose Olive Garden which is one of my favorite places. Most people hate waiting for a table but I love when we can have a few beverages and just talk and unwind. We waited about 45 minutes which was just fine by me plus by then we were both starving and everything tasted even more delicious
We have a little joke that’s been going on for about a week now. Last time we were out with friends an older man came up to me while I was dancing and was being a little bit too friendly. He was nice but Mr. New knew I was getting a bit irritated and so he came up to shield me from him. While on the dance floor–the man asked Mr. New a question of which I only heard a small portion of. The only word I heard was marriage and I didn’t press it until the next day. I kept asking Mr. New what the man had said and he would give me a sly smile and not tell me.
I was almost positive I had heard the man correctly but I didn’t want to assume so on the joke went. On date night I asked a few more times and out of the blue Mr. New answered me. He said the man had asked him if we were married and he said no. The man went on to ask if he was going to marry me and without a single hesitation…Mr. New said absolutely.
After he told me the story I almost choked on my pasta and turned bright red. I couldn’t even really look at him and I quickly changed the subject.
We didn’t talk about it again that night but the words are still ringing in my head. I am sure he was just trying to get the man away but I hope he doesn’t bring the story up again or I might blush so bad I will turn red permanently.

Nat, make no mistake about it.
If you can’t wait to see him…if you can’t wait to be with him..if you can’t see the rest of your life without him you’ve been given the most wonderful gift…go for it.
