Customer service is important to me which is why when I receive excellent care and attention-I like to point it out. I am that person who will call over a manager to say how much I enjoyed my server or fill out the comment card if someone went above and beyond.
Likewise- I am also that person who will call the manager if someone is extremely rude to me or doesn’t deliver. Luckily this is usually not the case. Most of the time I am praising those who provide what can make or break an experience for a customer.
Saturday I headed out to the Clinique counter at Younkers and wanted to try some different makeup. I had purchased a bottle that was okay but not exactly the coverage I wanted for my needs. A very kind lady approached me right away and offered to help. What set her apart was the questions she asked me. She clearly knew what she was doing and was kind and professional the entire time. She instantly asked me “What did you like about the previous product and what didn’t you like” to gauge what I needed accurately. She didn’t waste any time and constantly reassured me that I could bring the product back if I didn’t like it. She offered me a sample and spend a good chunk of time color matching for me. I was so impressed by her! Especially since I had a negative experience the last time I had tried to get some makeup there. I wish I would have got her name so I could call the store and tell them but I will look for her next time I go there. If she happens to read this I hope she knows how much her experience was appreciated and how kind she was! It really is the little things that go a very long way!

My niece works at a Clinique counter in another department store in another town. She gives the kind of service that your salesperson gave you. That lady talked to the manager about my niece’s care and concern, and word got back to my niece. It really made her day. Your salesperson would enjoy your feedback!!
Did you know that you could contact the manager with your positive comments and that person the department, day, and time that you received the good service; the manager would know who the person is/was by checking the work schedule.
Customer service is not for the weak! I say that from experience. There are some really rude people. Though it always makes my day when somebody says ive been trying to do this for months. I smile when i hear that because it gives me a chance to do something nobody else could. Every day i get a chance to change their experience. People are always quick to complain but hardly ever take the time for a compliment. Next time you are at that store find the girls manager and tell her what a great job she did, might go a long way in returning the favor.
Thank you, Natasha, for your very kind words.
I am certain that this is my daughter, Sarah Kirkpatrick. She is a wonderful mother to my grandchildren, as well. Sarah is known for her expertise and her customer care.
