As a reporter, actual three-day weekends are a rarity.  It was so nice to trade a day for working Labor Day and have Friday, Saturday & Sunday to spend with my family!  My sister-in-law Sheena, her boyfriend Dustin, and our nephew Dominick came to visit.  The boys played frisbee golf on Saturday while Sheena, Drake, and I did a little shopping.  It was really nice to catch up with them! 

Then Sunday, we got a call from our dear friends from Kansas, the MacKinney family.  They had traveled to Chicago for a funeral, and motored through Iowa on their way home.  So they stopped by to visit us!  We hadn’t seen them in about two years, so it was really nice to catch up a little during their brief stop.  They are such awesome and Godly people–and along with some other friends, are about the only thing we miss about Kansas! 

It was very refreshing to have a solid chunk of time to enjoy the company of family & friends!  It makes me anxious for my cousin’s wedding in a couple of weeks, when we’ll be back in Missouri with those we love.
