One of Drake’s most fun birthday gifts this year was a cute little snow toboggan from his great Aunt Jen & great Uncle Craig. Right after he got it, several of my cousins strapped him in the seat and pulled him around on the carpet. He laughed and grinned ear to ear. So after the massive amounts of snow that fell here in Iowa last week, Saturday was the perfect day to take it for its first real spin on some white stuff! He LOVED it! I think Floyd enjoyed it just as much running through the big piles of snow with Drake in tow. I had a lot of fun taking turns pulling it too. It took me back to my own childhood and how worn out we would get walking up and down the big sledding hill in our front yard. We didn’t get near as much snow in Missouri winters as typical Iowa winters do, but we had our fair share–built plenty of snow men and had lots of sled rides and days off school. Floyd just got to jump-start his holiday break with two snow days, and I’m glad we squeezed in a little family time in the snow!
I wish all of you the most merry of Christmases! Stay safe in your travels and don’t forget the true meaning of this season: Christ is born! He is the Savior of the world. God’s blessings abound to you & yours!
