Our rough day continued yesterday.  Drake seemed to be doing a little better after we went to the pediatrician.  Doctor said his ears were red, and throat was red.  (No infection, but irritation, and a negative strep test).  So he prescribed some amoxocillin.  We gave Drake the first dose around 4:30pm.  He took a short nap around 5:30, which is unusual these days, but he certainly needed the rest.  When he woke up, he was still pretty mellow but not quite as warm as he had been.  Then at around 8pm last night, he got really hot again.  We took his temperature:  104.4!  I was freaked out enough that we took him to the ER.  He took some more Tylenol and they did some blood work.  Everything came back normal, thankfully!  When we got home, his temperature was down to about 99 and he slept good and hard all night!  This morning, he felt a little warm.  But after he got his antibiotics this morning, he measured 97.7!  Yeah!!! Floyd stayed home with him today, and says Drake is in much better spirits now.  I hope his appetite starts coming back now too.  It was hard to see him so down and out.  Hopefully the medicine kicks this infection for good and he is back to his chipper little self from here out!
