I woke up this morning incredibly well rested (after the previous night sleeping miserably from a restless baby), and I kind of bounced out of bed with a spring in my step. I think it was actually dawning on me that I only have today and tomorrow left as a reporter at KWWL. I have so many people to thank that I don’t want to name them out individually and leave someone off. But first, considering the realm where I leave you this message, I want to thank all of you blog readers for your incredible loyalty and support. I started this venture as an outlet to air my life’s joys in marriage, and that bloomed into motherhood. This journey of sharing my story has been so much fun, and I sincerely thank you for coming along for the ride.
Secondly, I have to thank my newsroom. From producers, to fellow reporters, photographers, editors, anchors, managers–this is a great group of people. We work together well as a team and help each other out when push comes to shove. Like any newsroom, there are things I would do to change it. But overall, KWWL is bar none the best station I’ve had the privilege to be a part of. People here love what they do and put together a quality product day in, day out. I’ve always felt respected and appreciated here, and I am extremely grateful I’m leaving with the where-with-all and skills to advance my career in a meaningful way.
Finally, I have to thank my family. Let’s face it–my “Happily Ever After” wouldn’t exist without my darling Floyd and Drake. My parents and extended family have also been incredibly supportive and have enjoyed keeping up with our crazy world through this blog.
I would love to stay in touch with as many folks as I can from here out–you can “like” me on Facebook (@Kera Mashek KWWL–will change to @ Kera Mashek WCHS in a couple days!) or follow me on Twitter (same user names).
This has been an eventful and wonderful chapter of our bigger story in life, and I’m thrilled to begin the next part of it in West Virginia. God Bless!
