Oelwein Arrives

Sunday was a very rewarding and fulfilling day for me to be a part of a very special grand opening in the community of Oelwein. One of my “O’Connell Extreme Fitness” classmates, Mandie Stepp and her husband opened their own “OXF” fitness club.  More than a dozen of my OXF friends along with the masters, Russ and Kristi O’Connell visited the new facility to meet people, answer questions and give a little demonstration of some of the things we have learned.

The Stepps have put a lot of work into this project (the Gym is located at the Pamida Store in Oelwein) and it’s obvious to me that their investment is going to pay off.  It’s a really nice facility, complete with weights, bags, mitts and other accessories necessary for people who want to get into fighting shape. In our OXF class, Mandie was always driven and intense. I know as an instructor, she will motivate and inspire people to reach their potential. So far 50 people have signed up for OXF classes in Oelwein and I believe it’s just a matter of time before it truly explodes. Being there on Sunday it was easy to see the hunger and curiosity in the eyes of the people interested in really embarking on a serious fitness journey. I’m sure it was the same look I had in my eyes when Russ O’Connell approached me about joining an extreme fitness program he was starting.  In one year, my life has become dramatically better in so many ways. I wish the same fortune to all of my friends in Oelwein who are making health and fitness a priority.

Yes Rick you are so right, I too was proud to come and help Mandie and her husband with the opening. Mandie is going to do great and I am sure she will inspire many people just as Russ and Kristi have inspired you. Good Luck to Mandi and her husband on great success.

Thanks to all of you that took time out of your busy lives for our open house. It was wonderful to see my classmates again! Later that day, I thought that the OXF attendance was yet another example of how tight you really get with your OXF classmates.

The Oelwein morning class has completed their first week and the night class will complete theirs at 8pm. It is really amazing how far each and every one of them have come from day one. They all have so much drive and potential, I am honored to coach them in Oelwein. I have even been given a nick name in the morning by some…Jillian - just not as grumpy is what I’m told. Well, I guess they are getting what they paid for!

For me, it is one of the most rewarding things that I have ever done! To see their faces when they figure out the combination or after the feel and sound of a great kick…its awesome! Russ and Kristi have changed so many lives and the numbers keep growing. It’s been almost a year ago when many of us started this journey with them. Never would I have thought then that I would be spreading the OXF gospel like this today. Russ and Kristi dedicate their lives to helping others and have helped so many people! THANK YOU!!!

    Go Oelwein OXF!!

Words can not express how proud, excited and inspidred we are to watch people on their OXF journey!! Some of you have just started and are learning by leaps and bounds. My advice to you is stay focused and believe in yourself. You will be amazed how mentally and physically strong you will be in 12 weeks!!

To all the people who have taken OXF multiple times—–THANK YOU!!! The veterans, as we call them in OXF, bring the intensity of the class to a new level!! Your drive and passion for working out is why Russ and I love this business.

Mandie and Greg thank you for starting a whole new journey of OXF. You will find out their is nothing more rewarding then helping someone change their life for the better!! Oelwein and Waverly are very lucky to have such great coaches right in their back yard!!

And thank you Rick!! There is soo many people you have touched by writing this blog. Keep writing about your journey–it motivates people.
