Greetings - from the gym floor,
It’s 4:48 here in D.C. The Colts are up and eating breakfast. I got up at 4:00 to get dressed ahead of time. Everyone is laying up. It’s supposed to be cold. Although with the weather we’ve had in Iowa it can’ t be that cold right? haha.
Anyway, I woke up (after taking a 4 hours nap) and realized how big today is. It’s HUGE for so many people. For the members of the Colts who are back for the first time in 20 or 30 years. It’s huge for the kids who are witnessing it as spectators. It’s huge for the people marching in it, their parents and of course all their fans (reading this blog from all over). But really it goes beyond just this gym and the Colts family. It spreads through out the world. Today is a moment in history that will never be forgotten and to be this up close and personal…it’s a blessing.
So as I venture out into the craziness of D.C. and attempt to track down some Iowan’s I leave you with a quote from JFK:
“Let us think of education as the means of developing our greatest abilities, because in each of us there is a private hope and dream which, fulfilled, can be translated into benefit for everyone and greater strength for our nation.”
- John F. Kennedy -
I quote him because today…is the JFK Inauguration of my lifetime. And I am excited to be a part of it. Do this much for me today: if you can’t be here with the Colts, or in D.C. to experience it first hand. Take a moment to take it all in…no matter where you are. Stop and take a moment to realize what to in history truly means.
Until after the chaos…bye for now.
Lauren~

thanks for your constant updates, and for letting me share the excitement of the day
Hello! Thank you so much for your reports though these days! I check everything several times a day, and watch your short reports on TV. Hang in there — only about 24 bus hours to get home??
I don’t feel I can call son Greg — I expect he has many problems that are “inconveniences”! He has used this expression for years, I think it will be coined in the next dictionary! Fun to hear the kids and you use it!
Hello! Thank you so much for your reports through these days! I check everything several times a day, and watch your short reports on TV. By now I expect you have heard of the bus accident in Montreal a few years ago — new kids, same concerns! I don’t feel I can call our son, Greg — I expect he has many challenges that are “inconveniences”, an expression he coined years ago — fun to hear you and the corps using it!
Hang in there, only 24 hour bus trip home?? Get some sleep!
Hello! Thank you so much for your reports through these days. I check several times a day, and watch your short reports on TV. I enjoy how many are using our son Greg’s philosophy that “problems are just inconveniences” — and enjoy hearing the Colts and others using it! He has had many, we can’t be more proud of what he has done for so many.
