There are two storms we are tracking that will impact us in the next seven days. The first storm will arrive with rain late Tuesday night and continue through Wednesday. The rain will taper off early Thursday morning. Low pressure over northwest Texas will move east . There is a front extending northeast through Iowa. It will all move east/northeast during the day. The map below shows the rain arriving before the sun comes up Wednesday morning.
The map below shows the rain forecast from Monday morning to Saturday morning. Southern Iowa has the potential for more than 1″ of rain.
The second storm might be more wind than rain. The wind will increase Friday night and will remain windy through Saturday. Early indications show the heavier rain will be north of Iowa as the low tracks northeast into Minnesota. The map below is the GFS model for Saturday evening.
