I am tracking a cold front that is located to our north this afternoon. See map below.

The front is forecast to slowly move south across Iowa tonight and Thursday. Along the front there is a chance of isolated showers/storms. There is no threat for any severe weather at this time. Here is the forecast position of the cold front Thursday morning.

The second cold front I am also tracking is the one forecast to move from west to east across the state Saturday. There is a little better chance of showers/storms with this front. Here is the forecast position of the front Saturday morning.

There are no changes to the burn bans today.

This month there will be two full moons. The first one will be tonight (officially 10:28 PM). The second full moon will be on the 31st at 8:58 AM. The second one is considered a “Blue Moon”. FYI: the Moon is not actually blue. Click here to learn more about a “Blue Moon”.
