The temperatures at 3 pm today are in the low-mid 50s…that is much colder than they were yesterday. Here is the 24 hour temperature change.

Below normal temperatures are expected through next week. The coldest day will be Saturday with highs only in the upper 40s. The coldest mornings will be Saturday and Sunday morning as temperatures drop into the upper 20s.
The only chance of rain will be Tuesday as a cold front pushes through the state. Not much moisture with the front so if we do see any rain it will be light. Here is the forecast position of the cold front Tuesday morning.

The Drought Monitor was released this morning and the drought conditions are getting worse. The extreme drought conditions covered 66% of Iowa last week and it is now 75%.
