Today has been another beautiful day with sunshine (see map below), comfortable temperatures and a light breeze.

Thursday will be another warm fall day with high temperatures approaching 80 degrees. Cooler weather is going to move into the area Thursday. A cold front is forecast to cross eastern Iowa Thursday morning. There is a slight chance for a few light rain showers Thursday and Friday. Here is the forecast position of the front Thursday morning.

If you do see rain Thursday the amount would be light. Here is the rain forecast for Wednesday evening to Thursday evening.

High pressure will take over for the weekend with sunshine and a light wind again but the difference is that it will be much colder. Highs this weekend will be in the low-mid 50s and morning lows in the upper 20s and low 30s. Here is the position of the high Sunday morning.

Looking ahead to Tuesday another cold front will bring a chance of showers to the area but, again it doesn’t appear to be heavy or widespread here in eastern Iowa. The map below shows the forecast position of the cold front Tuesday morning.
