It has been another nice July day with plenty of sunshine in most locations most of the day. A few storms have developed this afternoon across central Iowa. These storms are tracking south and will fall apart as the sun sets this evening. Here is the 4 PM satellite and radar image.
Wednesday and Thursday will be the same as today. Isolated storms will develop in the afternoon and fall apart around sunset. A few of the storms will be in eastern Iowa. A dry forecast is ahead for Friday to Sunday. High temperatures and humidity level will increase a little each day compared to the previous day. The highest humidity during the next seven days will be during the weekend.
Overall the first seven days of July this year is MUCH better than last year. The chart below shows the high temperatures last year at Waterloo. The temperatures this year for the 1st and 2nd are actual highs and the rest are forecast highs.
A slow moving front will drift south across Iowa Monday and Tuesday with a chance of showers/storms. Here is the WPC forecast map for Monday morning.
