It felt like we changed seasons overnight. Hot and humid with severe thunderstorms Thursday and now today we have a gusty wind, temperatures in the low 60s and windy. The visible satellite photo from this afternoon showers two layers of clouds and moving in different directions. The clouds are moving southeast while at the same time the clouds higher in the sky are moving northwest (see image below).
If you are heading to the high school football games this evening bring a jacket. Temperatures will be in the low near 60 at kickoff and drop to the mid 50s by the end of the game. The wind will gradually diminish through the evening from the NW.
Fall officially arrives on Sunday and will feel like it this weekend. Dry weather is forecast through early Thursday next week. Temperatures will slowly warm to near 80 by the end of next week. The 8-14 day outlook (Sep 27-Oct 3) shows near normal temperatures and precipitation.
