Tonight…High pressure will lighten up the wind tonight and keep the sky clear. We can see the International Space Station this evening at 8:25 PM for 6 minutes. The travel path is from the SW to ENE. Also this evening if you look in the eastern sky you will see a bright light…that is Mars. Click here for additional information.
Wednesday…As the high moves east I am tracking a cold front approaching from the northwest. Between these two features a gusty wind will push highs into the mid and upper 60s.
Thursday…The cold front is forecast to push through the area in the morning with a few light showers. Sunshine returns during the afternoon with slightly cooler temperatures, but still very comfortable.
Friday…At this point I am going to leave the forecast dry. Model guidance has been showing dry weather except the last update. If that trend continues, I will add in a chance of showers with my next forecast update tomorrow.
Saturday/Sunday…There is still some uncertainty about this part of the forecast. The rain chance is there…the details like timing and amounts are etched in stone at this point. One model shows a lot of rain while another shows light rain. Also the timing is very different as well. We will have to wait on this for more details.
Monday/Tuesday…As mentioned above there is low confidence in the model guidance for the weekend. This does have an impact on Monday as well. If the low slows up the chance of rain will be added to Monday. Right now I am going to leave it dry. High pressure returns Tuesday. Cooler weather returns after the low moves east of Iowa with afternoon highs in the upper 40s.
