Near Record Temperatures Saturday

Waterloo just nearly missed tying its record high temperature on Saturday. The record high of 93° was set in 2011 but Saturday’s high was 92°.

Less Humid but still Hot Sunday

Another shot of mid-summer is coming to eastern Iowa today. Highs once again soar into the mid-80s, with some 90s possible this afternoon.

There will be two main changes from Saturday’s forecast. The first is that a cold front tracking through the state will push much of the humidity from the past couple of days out of the area. That being said, it will be a little more comfortable as you’re heading out on your Sunday errands. The second difference between today and Saturday is that we do not have a chance of storms. The moist air that is moving out with the cold front helped to fuel overnight storms in eastern Iowa.

Clear skies continue overnight. Without the humidity that has been in place the past two nights, it will be a comfortable night. It will be nice for grilling or a campfire with light winds this evening. Lows: 56-61. High pressure begins to build in – bringing in more nice weather through midweek.
