The recent early-July heat wave has resulted in some impressive warming on Lake Michigan. On July 6 the mid-south lake buoy recorded a water temperature of 80 degrees F. Since 1981 there have only been six episodes where the water temperature reached 80 degrees. The average water temperature for July 6 is 63 degrees F.
