Snow Reports

Here is a look at some of the snow totals as of Monday evening.

This map shows the heaviest of snow running from northwest to southeast across the middle of the state.

The snow is powdery so the next concern is what about the wind? Well the good news is a light wind is forecast tonight and through Tuesday.

Snow Continues Monday Afternoon

Snow is continuing to fall  Monday afternoon across eastern Iowa, with the heavier snow falling south of Highway 20.

The snow will end between 4 and 7 this afternoon and early evening.  The evening commute will be very slick.

Roads are in bad shape all across the area as of Monday afternoon. There are several tow bans in effect across several counties in central Iowa.

Snow Covered Roads

Use caution on the roads through the night as the roads are slick. Snow will continue through the rest of the afternoon and tapper off around 7 or 8 pm for most of eastern Iowa. Early this afternoon a large accident has occurred on I-35 near Ames.
