Storm Spotter Training

Severe weather season is approaching with the beginning of spring just around the corner. If you are interested, the National Weather Service offices in Des Moines, Davenport and La Crosse, Wisconsin are holding their storm spotter training classes across our area. Click the photo below to enlarge the graphic:

If you miss the spotter training in your specific county or if your county does not have a training session planned this year, you can attend a training in a different county. Most of these do not require preregistration except for the Johnson county session. If you plan to attend the class in Johnson county, you can preregister by clicking here.

There will also be multiple online training sessions. The La Crosse, Wisconsin office hosts their online webinars on March 14 (10:00am – 12:00pm), April 6 (1:00pm – 3:00pm) and April 16 (7:00pm – 9:00pm). You can email todd.shea@noaa.gov for more information on accessing those sessions.

The Des Moines office hosts online training on April 4 (7:00 PM – 8:30pm) and April 18 (7:00pm – 8:30pm).
