Record April Cold

It’s cold.  It’s plain and simple.  You and I both know its cold, and the record books show it.

Here are the high temperatures from Monday.  These are typically temperatures we’d see in February.

These are the coldest temperatures we’ve ever seen on April 16th.  Waterloo and Cedar rapids tied the record, while Dubuque and Iowa City broke the record cold maximum temperatures.

The first half of the month has been on for the record books.  Waterloo, Dubuque and Iowa City’s average temperature is the coldest its ever been for the first 15 days of April on record, with Cedar Rapids coming in as the second coldest.

Waterloo: 30.6°

Dubuque: 31.1°

Cedar Rapids: 36.4° (#2)  — (#1: 35.9° in 1975 )

Iowa City: 35.2°

There is good news, warmer temperatures are forecast by the end of the week, into the weekend.
